Fred Perry - Summer Drop (027)
- Posted: 19th June 2017
Fred Perry is a world-renowned British fashion, sportswear and apparel brand established by the legendary British Wimbledon champion Frederick John Perry in 1940s. Since its inception, the Fred Perry clothing range has been an innovator in fashion trends and style. Fred Perry was the first brand to make the crossover between sportswear and fashion with its adoption by the Mod and Skinhead subcultures of the 1950s and 1960’s. The Fred Perry Logo, also known as Fred Perry laurel wreath is one of the most recognisable fashion logos ever created.
Our latest drop of Fred Perry combines some classic styles, like their oxford shirt and polos, with some new pieces such as the camo print track suit.
The camo print track suit comes in two pieces the track jacket and track pants. The track jacket features the black camo print all over with the exception of the ribbed funnel neck, cuffs and hem. The jacket is part of the brands sports authentic range and as such has Fred Perry's laurel wreath taping down both sleeves and is finished with the embroidered B45 laurel wreath stitched onto the chest. The track pants come in solid black but feature the camo print and sports authentic taping in a strip down both legs. The bottoms are made in a regular fit with a slight taper and have two side entry pockets and are finished with the same embroidered B45 laurel wreath logo as the jacket.
The panelled pique polo is cut the same as all classic Fred Perry polos and fabricated from Fred Perry's pique fabric that they use across their entire range. This polo features a panelling detail down the centre and is finished with signature twin tipping on the collar and a bright red Fred Perry laurel wreath on the left chest.
The oxford bomber stripe pique polo takes the brands classic pique shirt and given it a new twist. The stripe design on the collar and cuffs is lifted from another of the brands iconic pieces, the tennis bomber.
The bomber collar pique polo is a hybrid style, the original piqué polo shirt adopts the same striped collar as Fred Perry's tennis bomber. Still detailing the collar with iconic twin tipping - a nod to the original M3600 polo detailing.
The final piece we are looking at here is the polka dot short sleeve shirt. The shirt is woven with a subtle herringbone texture and printed with a polka-dot design, this cotton shirt references the patterns of traditional British formality. The locker loop at the back is a subtle reminder of Fred Perry's sporting heritage. A lovely lightweight shirt for those summer nights.
